I have lots of thoughts and feelings about this book, none of which will make sense if I try and get them out of my head, so here are some random things I wrote down while reading:

SpoilerI love Danika and the Pack! Their dynamic is so great, but Bryce needs to step up with Connor, like, now
...
Oh, they're ALL dead now
......
OH, AND DANIKA KILLED THEM AND HERSELF, I almost died reading that. F U Micah.
"Hunt often wondered what it would feel like to rip out this throat" Same, Hunt, same.
I knew that the unnamed medwitch was the Queen, like who else could she be.
"The Asterian Guard had flown off, presumably to get instructions from their masters, and Sandriel just gaped at the feed that had shown Byrce Quinlan casually vacuuming up the ashes of a Governor as if she'd spilled chips on the carpet"
BRYCE VACUUMED MICAH UP
....
Let me say that again
.....
She VACUUMED Micah up after shooting, dismembering, and burning him. We all need a Bryce in our lives. I laughed so hard at that part that my two cats on my bed jumped a little and looked at me, really offended.
......
Sweepy sweep
......
"My friends are with me and I am not afraid"
I ugly cried when Lehabah died, her repeating that her friends are behind her, no, no, no.

What the heck was that ending??? Must immediately read the next one!
I really like space books, how have I not realized this before? The living-on-a-ship setting is amazing for me
Not a fan of insta love, but it is YA, which is typical, so I can ignore that.
I didn’t see the plot twists coming, the ones at the end at least, so that was fun!
I saw Mink being Charlotte a mile away, but I didn’t see her being IA, so that was a nice twist

Unpopular Opinion coming in hard.
You know when you re-read a book and skim through some boring parts to get to the good parts? This is how this book is written. No atmosphere, no wording building, no character development. Each part is rushed to get to the next part.

"I'd spent my life pretending to be a soft thing. A thing that grew in the sunlight. But I was beginning to wonder if I was a creature of darkness"
It wasn’t as great as the first book, or the second book, but I still enjoyed reading it! It was slow at times and I wish the ending was longer, or the end scene was longer, but I liked the outcome of it.
Honestly didn’t expect that ending, especially when Bryn worked so hard for her stake, but I think it was great for Ezra!
I wish they’d taken Henrik down a notch more, he’s just going to keep treating the family like garbage.
I was really hoping to see some of the cast from Fable in this spinoff, so that was a little disappointing when it didn’t happen

Well, I’m a little dead on the inside now. Her memories of that night and then the ending with his parents. Ugh, I cried like I was Kenna herself

I DIDN’T KNOW THERE WAS ANOTHER BOOK AFTER THIS?? Spin-off, but I’m excited to read about the Roths! Literally ordered it a minute ago!
Review to come when it’s not 10:30 at night

TW:
I liked this book, a solid 4 stars. Nothing new, and the romance between Ollie and Will only lasted for like a chapter, but I still breezed through it! The humor was great and the pacing was good - minus the end.
It seems lately that I don't really care for the MC of YA contemporaries, but I really liked Ollie! He was so good to his cousins and parents, never making this harder than it needed to be for their family! Crista was adorable.
There were a few stereotypical characters or times that I wasn't a fan of, but overall I enjoyed all the characters.
EXCEPT FOR WILL.
I *know* he apologized in the end, but he treated Ollie like trash, and I know that the circumstances were hard and scary for him, but I just don't think Ollie deserved that.

I need to read more STEM books so badly. I spent 8 years in academia, and this book made me realize that I miss none of it

4.25 ⭐️ rounded to 5 since I loved the overall series (probably 4.5 stars for the trilogy)
Some random thoughts I had during reading:
Zila - "She is not tall" what a great compliment coming from Zila the Robot
