I really loved this book, although I’m not surprised, Julie Kagawa hasn’t disappointed me yet with her books! The mythology and world building was great, I loved the magic and demons, the banter and emotion in this story.
Yumeko was a delight, she was so strong yet so innocent to the world outside the temple. The fact that she was able to push through the loss of her home and family, to complete her mission was inspiring. I loved how she asked questions about everything, and speculated answers that were hilarious

"Though I walk in the shadow of the valley of death I will fear no evil"
Ooooohhh, this book was amazing!
I've never read a book that has all villains in it. I'm pretty sure, aside from Dol, every character was evil, but I guess with the NDE, and the piece that disappears when they come back, they all had to be evil.
Mitch was a less-evil character, more bad-guy than evil, so that was a good point, but it's hard to root for a character when they're all bad

-0.25 for the miscommunication/withholding-info trope, cuz I hate that trope
Otherwise, LOVED it just as much as the first time I read it, if not more! I'm a big Garrett fan, and all of his hockey friends fan, but I really loved Hannah too. She was strong and aside from douche Cass, she was stand-up-for-yourself-and-speak-your-mind brave.
The past situation that she went through just made me want to throw the book across the room. I HATE that so many women never get justice.

I actually wrote 2-ish reviews for Confess!
The first is only about Confess
The second one is a mixture of Confess and It Ends With Us

Loved this one just as much as the first, which made me so happy! But like the first, the fight scene and the ending were too rushed for me, so I lowered the star rating by 0.75

I seriously regret not reading this book sooner, this was absolutely amazing. What a unique take on the Beauty and the Beast retelling, one that I loved so much! I wish we could have had a longer ending, but wow, I’m pretty speechless, especially considering the rating of this book. I’ve added this to my (mental) list of favourite books and I can’t wait to read the next one!
Nyx was an amazing main character, I love how “cruel” she was, and how well she fit with Ignifex and Shade. Her humour was top notch and I laughed out loud multiple times during the book. Like one of the first things she does is punch Ignifex in the face
