I enjoyed learning more about Kelly's life, especially her dancing career. I loved learning some behind the scenes stories from Gilmore Girls. Overall a solid read if you are a Kelly Bishop fan.

It took me a while to get into this but nobody does characters and relationship dynamics like Sally Rooney. I didn't want it to end.

This books takes a close look at things like logical fallacies and cognitive distortions, especially ones that frequently show up across specific cross sections of American society. It certainly helped me to pause and reflect on where my thinking is irrational and I feel it will help me be more cognitively healthy moving forward.

This installment deals with small town politics and family feuds in ranching. There are a lot of sub-plots and threads to follow and track that connect to previous books in the series. You do need your brain turned on to keep track of everything.

This was such a fun time! It was dark, macabre, and gory. There was pining and steam, and melodrama. A bit over the top but honestly just a super entertaining fun time.

Life changing. I will read this over and over again.

Heartbreakingly, beautifully human.

I love this series on the whole but this installment didn't work for me. There was so much going on and it got just a bit too dark for me for a cozy. Lena becomes an unreliable narrator for a good portion of the book as well. I like that in a thriller or litfic, but for a cozy it just doesn't work well imho.

Based on how much I liked this I should read more middle grade nonfiction. lol. Since its middle grade they really dialed up the entertainment factor for this story and simplified the history which my brain and attention span greatly appreciated. What a fascinating woman Elizabeth Smith Friedman was!
dark sad tense medium-paced

This villain origin story is a tragedy guaranteed to break your heart. Heavy handed with the Alice in Wonderland-ness and lots of other literary references make this a good time for an English major.
