Kinda cute but overall I was very bored. Won't continue the series.

Interesting. This is my favorite book of all time and it remains so. This was probably my fourth time re-reading it but I enjoyed it significantly less than I have in past reads. I think it's just because I'm not feeling well and this book requires a lot of brain power to really appreciate. 

This all vibes, imagery, lush writing, and ideas--no plot. So if you're a plot driven reader, you probably won't like it.

cute! I liked getting Charlotte's perspective.

This one was had a bit more drama than the first two but it was standard life drama. All healthy conflict and life challenges, nothing traumatic (with the exception of one scene toward the end). I read these cozies because they soothe my nervous system and this one succeed in doing that. 

Loved getting another story from this universe. 4 stars because I wanted more character perspectives. And can we PLEASE get a book for Misha and book for Alex? Pretty pleeeeeeeeeease? 

I'm not the target audience but I am glad this book exists. It's solid. :) 

There is so much to process with this one. Layers upon layers. Unhinged woman trope. Horrifying girlhood themes. Colonialism and racism deconstructed. And sapphic mermaids.

DNF 25%. 

This was just ok. Checked reviews to see if it was worth finishing and saw all the controversy. DNFd because life is short and there are so many good books that aren't controversial/problematic to enjoy.

I was surprised that I didn't like this because I've loved the author's previous work. This book tells rather than shows. It is full of melodrama and plot holes. It felt like a lifetime movie? I also felt like it defaulted to stereotypes and tropes rather than tackling any nuance. Bummer. 

This was in line with previous books in the series. This had a bit more emphasis on the relationships than the previous books. The conclusion wrapped up all the loose ends nicely and this feels like a good place to end the series. So, I'm a bit confused about what she'll write about in the next book.
