I'm not sure where to start with this one... I loved it and I didn't at the same time. I really really thought LKH was getting somewhere with Haven and Anita. They were talking, I wanted them to work it out. Then a quarter of the book was about what she did and her recovering. Was the gym nonsense necessary? Absolutely not. I could have skipped the whole thing and not missed a darn thing of the plot.
I think LKH needs to go back to middle school and learn how novels work. Her climax was awful, there really was no climax. It was just a meeting. Then the end its over. Ta da!
There were a lot of loose ends. The lions from Vegas, whatever happened to them? Maybe I skipped a page and didn't find out. I don't know. I always tell my husband to read over his work, I think LKH needs someone to tell her to look over hers.
Another thing that gets me, pages and pages and pages of clothing descriptions.
Lastly, it seemed like LKH took a lot of reviewers to heart when they said all her books are Anita arguing. Anita just went along with everything and LKH repeatedly mentioned how she should argue, but she's not, she'll drop it. Whatever, we all got a break from arguing.
With that said it was interesting with the Gold tigers. The smut was played down more. If he had finished up the rest of the plot and actually had something cool happen with Mommie Dearest, i might have forgiven everything else.
