krystlesbookclub's Reviews (400)

I enjoyed this one more than the first. It hit the ground running, picking up right where the first left off.
Mara was more likable in this one than the first. I found Cole less cringe in this book and more hot rich guy. I found this one more fast-paced, finishing it in a day.  Again, with this one, the same as the first, I loved the incorporated illustrations and playlist even if I had zero intentions of listening to the playlist. I think the way it was incorporated in these books was better than I've seen in others.

I'm having a hard time reviewing a part 1. I enjoyed this story but I am a sucker for a serial killer romance. I can't wait to see where this one goes. I Love to Hate Mara I love that she is so spunky and defiant but still somehow makes awful decisions.
Love the back and forth POV. I love the illustrations. I have never cared about a Playlist in a book before but I like the way it was incorporated into the story but I personally find music in the background distracting

I adored this book. It is a heartbreaking story that is so well told that you can feel the anger and frustration of the main character.
I found the way this story was told to be such a unique spin on a story of kidnapping. It kept my attention from start to finish. I won't forget this one for a long time.
fast-paced

Possibly my new favorite of the year 🙌🏼 I love short chapters, multiple POVs, and unexpected twists. This book has all of that, so many twists that are totally unpredictable, I was impressed.
The short chapters have you saying "just one more chapter" and then you've read half the book because there is so much going on that it keeps you engaged.
I will be recommending this one for a long time.

Cute second chance romance. There are no surprises in this one it goes exactly how you expect. Basically a Hallmark movie with open door romance.

Good, not great. It is a beach town romance where a relationship starts out in a lie, and everything goes exactly how you think it will go. There are no surprises in this one, not a closed door romance but not as open door as I'm used to from Elle Kennedy. This is the one you grab if you want an easy beach read with no twists.
Tension between "townies" and "clones" add to the complexity of the characters, worth a read but also totally skipable.

Such a binge worthy thriller. The short chapters and multiple suspects had me saying "one more chapter" so much I flew through this book.
MC is unlikable but I still felt empathy for her. I was still rooting for her even when she literally made every wrong decision along the way.

This is a sweet little rom-com. I listened to it on Audible, and it took me a bit longer to get through it, but I enjoyed it. Andrew, working as an ice cream scooper felt a little young and overqualified given his education. Sadie is a girl going through a hard time when Andrew starts at the restaurant, and the last thing she wants to do is train the new guy. Even if the new guy is a hunk.
There are plenty of awkward moments, spicy moments, and fun nicknames in this one. Secrets being kept always lead to a 3rd act breakup when they are discovered before being discussed before resulting in a HEA.

Love it! It may be a novella, but it is a full story. I love an origin story, and that is how this prequel reads. Jess Lambert's origin story.
A twist, a mystery, and a girl who needs to get to the bottom of it.
If you read These Still Black Waters, I highly recommend going back and reading this one before the sequel comes out.

I read this one quickly. I'm always a fan of a back and forth POV. I liked the added flash back time line as well. It adds depth to the characters and to the story. This one had me very intrigued on what happened, what was Ellie hiding, I couldn't shut my brain off from trying to guess what it could be.
You'll have some guesses while reading this one they won't be right.
