This book is certainly a thorough memory of the mid-century with cocktails that finish off each section. The cocktail recipes coordinate well with the chapter themes and give a sense of the time as told through drinks. This was a quick read full of interesting information!

A pretty slow start, I actually almost put it away for awhile to finish later. But once it picked up I really enjoyed it and blew through the rest of the book. I'm looking forward to books about the other band members. I love a whole set of origin stories.

So fun, funny, silly and somehow still manages a really cute romance. A true romp of a book. 

I really had to force myself through this one. I was hoping some of the sins that made John Dies at the End occasionally unreadable would be fixed and sorta yes sorta no for this one. The writing is objectively better than the first book but the overall story is less engaging? I'm done with the series I think it's just not it for me.
