2.5 (cause there's a whole scene where he brushes her hair)
At first I was like this book is kind of annoying cause the only thing the author knows about people from Spain is that they drink sangria. But then Noah got rejected and went to THERAPY and I was like oh OK. Honestly pretty good spicy scenes.

This is a fun, quick read and a really lovely debut novel. Donnie is unrelentingly optimistic and fun to follow around. If you'd enjoy reading about a hopeful Irish character blundering their way through Hollywood in the 80s/90s this is the one for you. Donnie is from a small Irish town and after a surprise inheritance decides to chase his dreams of being an actor and brings his positive energy and unintentional manifesting to LA. This is silly, hopeful, and surprisingly sweet.

OMG. I actually picked this one on a whim because the cover art showed a plus size MMC which i see so seldom and want so often. And then to continue listening and the FMC is the responsible eldest sister that helped raise little siblings in a way that affected childhood and sense of freedom and therefore doesn't want kids (haha ouch that's personal.) This book was so close to being perfectly, exactly what I always want in a rom com but oh boy that stand up was rotten. I did not hold it against Melvin cause he is sooooo lovable. Also really loved the narrators for the audiobook. Long story short it still stands at the tip top of favorite romances for me.

I just really really loved this. It's not big classic romance more contemporary fiction with a touch of romance I'd say. But I just fell in love with every character and consistently rooted for everyone to live happily ever after. Also the narration of this audiobook is PERFECT! Eleanor Tomlinson did an absolutely incredible job narrating this like I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed her reading. 10/10 on narration.
This essay collection could have been plucked out of my own pre teen/teen diaries honestly. Relatable and reflective. Maybe not uproariously funny as far as humor essay collections go, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.
Imagine two of the most polite (almost to a fault?), slightly awkward people you've ever thought of. That is Jess and Gethin. I think I liked this book, it certainly held my attention anyway. It's written in what feels like a sort of stream of consciousness style. It aligns with my own nervous energy thoughts so maybe if you also have nervous thoughts this will be enjoyable to read?
I like the main characters but boy do they make some frustrating decisions. I do understand where everyone comes from, but be prepared for a SLOW burn.
