Mac and Tom are not compatible at all. Their "love story" really takes away from the rest of the book. Also the way the authors talks about the pandemic is appalling. She makes it sound like a inconvenience that lasted a matter of months instead of a global disaster going on year 3.

Couldn't get past the MC being a pretentious twat. By page 8 I was done.
