Per My Last Email gave me all The Office vibes and I absolutely LOVED it!

Layla works at a publishing company as an admin, along with Luke - of course, this is a total situation of each is friend zoning the other because they can't quite possibly believe that there are feelings there. But in true friends to lovers fashion, at an office conference, they decide to be brave and show the other how they truly feel.

This was a slow burn, closed door romcom that had me giggling & swooning. I loved the Pam/Jim idea and I was SO glad that we didn't have to wait 4 years just for Luke & Layla to admit their feelings (I mean... technically three years but flash forward...) I was slightly disappointment that Nathan wasn't more of a Dwight but I loved his character all the same.

Huge thank you to Juliana Smith & NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Allison Ashley has this way of writing stories that tugs at your heart, makes you laugh, makes you cry, and makes you swoon.

Claire & Graham are close friends and roommates. They made a marriage pact which turned into a friends with benefit pact - if they were not married by 40, they would start hooking up. Then Graham gets into a serious accident and suddenly everything has changed between them. Claire becomes his home nurse which quickly turns into more…

I adored the chemistry between Claire and Graham. I love their banter and Graham’s emails?? SWOOOOOOOOOOOON

If you are looking for a fun & campy rom-com, My Roommate is a Vampire is just for you!

Cassie works at a library & a coffee shop but really wants to be an Art Teacher - she just hasn’t found a job doing that yet.
Frederick is a 300 year old vampire who desperately needs help learning modern life.

She responds to a Craigslist ad about a roommate and suddenly the two are in a forced proximity situation and surprisingly falling in love.

This was a super cute & quick read. It was laugh out loud funny & Freddie is a seriously swoon worthy, cinnamon roll vampire.

The plot gave me Twilight vibes - if twilight wasn’t super cringe.

This debut from Jenna Levine definitely makes me want to read future books from her!

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Rachel learns that her political husband has been having an affair and she’s ready to make some major changes in her life. As part of those changes, she meets Nathan and a friendship is formed. However, the timing of their friendship is ill-fated and she has to choose between doing what is best for her heart or choosing the lesser scandalous road and not causing an uproar with their families.

This was beautifully written and I loved the character growth that we saw with both Rachel and Nathan as their friendship and love grew for each other. However, I struggled to connect with the plot and storyline. I’ve never tried to watch any of the more scandal related TV shows because it’s never been something that I was hugely interested in. So maybe this is a good reminder that I tend to go for the more light-hearted reads that I can also emotionally connect with.

While I didn’t love this book, I will be keeping my eye on Regina Black - she has an incredible way with words and I would definitely be interested in trying another of her books.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing & Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
