4.5 star - holy crap. What did I just read?

I will say that the .5star was deducted because I felt so lost at the plot until about the 60% mark. I also went in blind because I had completely forgotten what I read months earlier about the synopsis.

This was an incredible story - audio narration was perfect to build the suspense. And spice

Harley works with her sisters at their family inn, but Harley is also feeling like she doesn't have a concrete place on the team. She loves managing the birthday parties but it's being discussed that maybe the birthday parties are not a good financial decision.

Then enters Gavin and his daughter, who just so happened to be previous nanny clients of Harley's.

This is a very cute second chance romance between the youngest of the sisters & a single dad. I loved the interactions between Harley & Peyton as well as Gavin & Peyton. However, it felt very much so like an insta-love trope which is not my favorite.

However, I felt like the author touched on the single parent struggles (when dealing with a love interest) well and the story has a very good flow.

Thank you Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for the ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.

Natalie lost her husband, Russ, in an unexpected accident a couple years ago - for those that experience grief after losing someone they love, they know that grief has no timeline.

But then someone keeps leaving music at a piano and the music all means something important to Natalie. In an attempt to find out who keeps leaving her the sheet music, Natalie must also get her friends to understand that there is no right way to grieve.

I was so excited to get this ARC because I absolutely loved "Eight Perfect Hours'" - however, this felt like a much slower read and struggled to catch my attention. I think the story idea is a good one, but this book just didn't do it for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for this ARC for my unbiased review.

Leah's working every job she possibly can in an attempt to make enough money to move out of Willow
Cove - especially since her foster mother recently passed and there isn't anything else holding her back. In this time, she meets Eli who is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend who recently traveled to Rome for a few months. Along with some friends, they decide to change things about Eli to help him win back his ex.

Let's talk about what I liked - the plot idea is cute. It's a typical 90's and early 2000's rom com idea. I loved the references to 80's and 90's movies, plus the Gilmore Girl references.

However, I felt like the story struggled to keep my attention. The characters had no personality, the chemistry fizzled, and I just wanted to smack Eli for obsessing over winning someone back who clearly had no interest in him.

I expected a lot more out of this book than what I got - I felt like the whole story was lacking. So much drama but then it seemed to be magically resolved in one day?

Unrealistic.
