Nothing wrong with this book, and these two characters remain among my favourites of all time, but I generally find these in-between style novella collections vaguely disappointing (from all worlds, not just this one - Sarah J Maas series suffer from this too imo). Ultimately, I think I'd rather have more Magnus and Alec in sections of main books than in spin offs, but hey, I'll read any book about Alec and Magnus if I'm being honest. I found the plot lacklustre, but Magnus and Alec themselves, and their relationship, as deeply adorable as ever. I should also note appreciation for true YA representations of healthy, very sweet LGBTQ+ relationships - more of these remain very welcome.

This is a practical how-to guide for handling and taming wild (or technically feral) horses, and while I didn't enjoy it as much as Kelly Wilson's memoir/autobiography style books chronicling her own experiences with wild horses around the world (such as Saving the Snowy Brumbies), it was still an interesting and informative read. It is targeted at wild horse taming but the information is completely applicable to working with any young horses, particularly those with little prior handling, and I found relevant information even for working with my own self-started but now mature horse who is pretty established under saddle. The writing is good, and the photography is beautiful, as is typical for Kelly's work.

Did I mean to read this book in one night instead of chapter by chapter so I could savour it and discuss it with the Life's Library book club bit by bit? No I did not, but that is what happened and I don't regret it. Murderbot is both hilarious and delightful and since libraries are closed due to the pandemic, I guess I'll just have to get the rest of the series on Kindle.
