I really enjoyed this book. I was fascinated by the idea of Marilyn Monroe but had little knowledge about the person. This book provided great details about her rise from a troubled childhood to be an iconic person in entertainment history to her death at such a young age. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who was/is interested in the history of Marilyn Monroe.

This was an interesting book for me. I did not have much knowledge about Brooke's Shields entry into the entertainment industry. I had watched her in Blue Lagoon and some TV shows. I was captivated reading about her relationship with her mother, an alcoholic, growing up as a child actor. Brooke's mother managed her career for a long time. I was fascinated of this relationship because of Brooke's love of her mother but hate for the alcoholism that made her mother distant emotionally and often physically. Reading about Brooke's experience watching her mother die was very close to my heart. My mother also passed away in 2012 but from cancer, not an addiction.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series and look forward to continuing with the other books.

Jane is the manager of Storyton Hall (a resort focused on books!!!-my kind of place) who is widowed mother of twin boys. Trying to keep up with the twins and running the resort, she learns a huge secret about her family's ties to Storyton and the great responsibility that has been bestowed on her to protect its secrets. In the middle of all this, during a week long mystery themed event, people start dying and an important book disappears. Throw in a little romance with Jane's best friend's brother, the result is highly entertaining for me as the reader.

I was happy to had the experience of reading this book. This memoir of Scott Simon retelling the experience of being by his mother's bedside before and during his mother's death. During the time at her bedside, Scott was able to relive a lot of memories with his mother and to discuss topics that were relevant to the concept of death to each person. This would be an excellent book for anyone having to deal with the death of a parent and finding an amount of "closure". Unfortunately, my mother's death was sudden so I did not get the opportunity to reflect with my mother in this way.

I received this book as a Christmas present from my sister. It was a very cute and a short read. Any cat lover will enjoy this book about "letters" from kitty. Cat lovers will nod their head as they imagine their own cat saying the same things.
