What a beautiful, tragic, and bittersweet story. This book moved me greatly. I even cried. I could not put this book and wanted to keep reading it all the time but life got in the way.

This story was just okay for me. I really did not understand the connection between what happened to Em with her baby and meeting Pickering. I did finish it to find out what happened.

What could go wrong when five adult children get together to read the will of their deceased parents who owned a summer camp for children? In this book, everything can happen. The division of the parents' estate, specifically the camp, relies on solving a 20 year mystery of the violence against one of the campers. Who could have done it? I enjoyed that the book was written from different viewpoints and the ending was definitely a surprise. I look forward to reading more from Catherine McKenzie.
