I read the book after watching the trailer for the movie. Overall I liked it, but it lost me a bit towards the end. I felt a little let down by the twist/conclusion. The first half of the book was better for me.

Based on other reviews, this book was just not for me it seems. I almost DNF a couple times but stuck with it to the end because I heard such good things about it. Overall I thought the plot, message, and writing were too simplistic for an adult fiction book. After starting it I double-checked if it was YA or even middle grade fiction because the tone and writing read so young to me.
Not a bad book, I'm sure I would have loved it as a pre-teen, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone past YA.
