 Gray After Dark is the second book I’ve listened to by Noelle W. Ihli, and thankfully, this one was much better than the first one. This is a fast-paced and very disturbing (though not detailed) thriller. There aren’t any big twists or turns, but it still held my attention to the very end. I really liked Miley and her growth throughout the book. She is kidnapped and brought to a remote cabin in the middle of the woods by two terrifying men. (view spoiler) She is recovering from physical and emotional pain from a car accident. She must rely on herself to survive and eventually escape from her captors. She is a total badass. Brent was also very likable, and I'm glad there were several chapters from his point of view. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers with dark themes.

 The Lies You Wrote is an enjoyable thriller. I guessed two of the big plot twists very early on, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the story. There was some flip-flopping that I had a hard time understanding. I had the hardest time understanding the job of an FBI Linguist. It makes total sense to me at some points, and at others, I don’t understand it. Then there are Raisa and Callum. They work well together; at times, it feels like it might develop into something romantic; at others, it feels entirely professional.

There are some great side characters. I liked Delaney and all of her weirdness. She made some of the duller moments more entertaining. Overall, I would recommend checking this out, but note that it ends with a semi-cliffhanger and sets up the sequel. Also, don’t read the summary of Book 3, as it spoils the book's ending.
