If you are looking for a cozy fantasy with no high stakes, good laughs, and a charming world that is completely predictable, then this is for you. This was a good start to a spin-off series of The House Witch. This is a setup for the following books. Not much happens besides Alina looking for a husband, getting engaged, and building a relationship with the Ashownans. The story ends with many unanswered questions that are hopefully addressed in The Burning Witch.
