This was a cute Halloween-y romance that was a nice palate cleanser. It is instalove which isn't normally my favorite trope, but it was still very cutesy and entertaining.

Trigger Warning: FMC experienced sexual assault and deals with her emotional journey after the fact. While the event happens in the past she does have flashbacks and tells someone what happen
Truly a fun book to read. I wasn't a fan of the previous book I read by Stayman-London, but this one was pretty enjoyable. The FMC is mid/plus sized in her mid to late 20s (she's a grad student) who loves a vampire series and the fanfic that comes from it (even her dissertation is about the series). If you were a tween/teen during the height of the Twilight/Vampire Diaries craze this book will hug your little fangirl heart. I cannot stand when authors use sexual assault as plot device (especially when it's meant to progress a male character's arc), so it was a breath of fresh air to read a book about an SA survivor and how she processes what happened to her andthat she was then able to engage in a healthy and enjoyable sexual encounter after the event . While I wasn't a huge fan of the MMC (he was too cowardly for my liking), I did like aspects of their relationship and the relationship FMC's best friend had with MMC's sister.

I listened to the audiobook of this book which is read by the author herself. I really enjoyed the book and though it's technically a memoir, it works as a self-improvement book. It genuinely had me rethink my own life and it was deeply inspiring. I think there are a lot of people that could benefit from reading this book and it helps that Drew made it engaging and entertaining.
