Suzanne Collins has once again struck gold with Catching Fire. Her portrayal of a world that is so cold, empty and desperate for a flicker of hope is so realistic. I love how she has made her characters so flawed and human. The idea that the world has affected them, and our heroes are at times scared of the dark, has just made this book all the more enjoyable for me. I like to know that even the bravest of people have fears and are like myself, and Collins has made that possible.

The book is, without a doubt, worth 5 out of 5. I cannot wait to start Mockingjay, as I just know it will be a brilliant conclusion to this mind blowing trilogy.

This was a series everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was talking about, so much so that it made me unsure about whether or not I actually wanted to read it. I was terrified that I would expect too much, with all the hype it was getting and so I really took my time before finally giving in. By the time I got to about page 50, I was so engrossed I simply couldn’t put the book down and I was asking myself why on Earth had I waited so long before picking it up!
