I read this entire series in 2 days and I am sad to have it finished. And having to wait for the final book.
The author takes on some dark topics here but handles it realistically. She is also allowing for redemption arcs for problematic characters. But I like that the author takes risks with her audience. There are groups of readers out there who do not want to see morally grey outcomes. Bad people who do bad acts must stay bad.. but that's not real life.
Beyond that this is a 10 person bond that should be a gimmick but Washington manages to make every relationship unique. The FMC at the center of this reverse Haram manages to bring out each partner as fully realized character that grows and expands with the story.

These books are low key, fun and delightful.
No need to think of them as anything more than a fun distraction

This series keeps getting better and better! It has me on the edge of my seat and never spends too much time inner monologuing which is a big problem with a lot of the books on this genre.
I thought I would be difficult to manage so many bonds but Washington manages to weave a tense storyline with enough spicy encounters to keep the customer satisfied.

These books are so much better than their blurb makes them out to be. Very slow burn. The first two books are 🌶️ and then the spice level is supposed to go to 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Tension and mystery and the author is only revealing the world and mystery one detail at a time.
I'm still not sure what the bonds are in this world, what is the agenda of the government vs the main characters, will the bonds even be fulfilled and now there is an entire religion and pantheon of Gods that might be involved
