I'm not sure where to even start with this book. I listened to the audio on Libby and it was SO GOOD. The world-building, the characters, the language, everything flowed so well.
Zetian is an amazing FMC and her journey throughout this book is flawless and is filled with feminism, a side of romance, and just amazing badass moments.
This is one I will definitely have to re-read physically to fully understand everything I may have missed on audio. But a SOLID start to what I know is going to be a great series.

This book is the definition of a SLOOOOOW BURN. But it pays off so so well in the end. The tension between the two characters was done so well, even though the miscommunication between them could get a bit frustrating at times, but I think that is what the author intended, so it works.
I love the way they worked together and rediscovered their feelings for one another throughout their writing journey.
I really enjoyed the audio of this one and the different narrators for both POVs. Dual POVs are superior and no one can tell me otherwise.

Mmmmkay. This book. THIS BOOK. I waited MONTHS for my hold on Libby to come through and let me tell y'all, the payoff was WORTH IT.
The twists this book took were just mind-blowing and NOTHING I could have guessed. The start was slow, which is why I gave it four stars, because I found myself a bit bored, but when it took off, it TOOK off.
Such an amazing sequel.

This was the BEST ending to a really great fantasy series. There was never really a "slow" moment in this book and everything going on had me questioning everything from the previous two books and trying to figure out what was going to happen in the end.
I loved all the character development in this one as well. Kiva really comes into her own and finally accepts herself for who she is and accepts her magic and it's such a turnaround from the first book in the series.
The author definitely destroys you at some points, but by the end you're put back together with such a satisfying ending.
