You might look at the cover and read the title and think you are getting an identification book. Then you flip through and realize you are wrong, you are getting so much more than that. You are getting an artist’s love letter to seashells! Jessie King Regunberg has filled her book with examples of beautiful shells you might actually come across at the beach, but she has also given the reader a glimpse into how shells have been used over the years in art, food, music, and literature. And all this was accomplished with her charming artwork, not a single photo to be found. 

Anyone who has tucked a shell in their pocket or gone home with a bucket full of shells from the beach will enjoy this book tremendously!

In a world of fast fashion, this book will help you slow down and save your favorite pieces of clothing. Have a hole in your favorite leggings or puffer jacket? There is a repair to be made! The author shows you different techniques to apply to different items. They also discuss different fabrics and which mends would be most appropriate. 

A lot of really good mending information to be found among the pages!

This was a wonderful debut novel by Flora Carr. They have taken a snapshot from the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, and made it into a fast paced story. Mary has been locked in a tower in the middle of a lake with her ladies and the story centers around their thoughts and actions while being trapped. 
I loved the author’s quick style of writing, almost like a stream of consciousness. It makes for a very enjoyable read. 
Don’t think the fast pace of the writing style somehow hides flaws in the story, because it does not. Flora Carr has perfected the despair, anxiety, pain, and love the women share while being held. 
A highly enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing what the author writes in the future.

Well, that was a fun journey through the rings of The Holy Realm of Khanum. 

Not only are we treated to a who-dun-it with many moving parts, we are also given the added nervousness of a giant titan out in the sea waiting to strike at any moment. While it took me a couple of chapters to become immersed in the story and gather my wits about me, I totally fell for the characters. 
This was a well written mystery/fantasy in the vein of Sherlock and Holmes with a bit more grit and sass and an extremely well thought out world. The combination of Ana and Dol, the main characters, definitely makes you want to know what comes next for them and leaves you wanting to know more about their pasts.
