This is the most brilliant graphic novel I have ever picked up. If you've never tried a graphic novel, start with this one. The illustrations are gorgeous - black and white and beautifully simple. The story elegantly weaves mythology with fantasy. There's a subtle dose of sass in the story as well, which I adore. I've been trying to cut down the amount of books I actually purchase, but I think this is one I will have to add to my collection.

It's a dark and twisting tale that surprisingly ends quite pleasantly. The book took me a bit to get into, but once I was hooked, I found my myself racing to the end. The characters are the best bit of the story, and I'll miss seeing their lives played out for me.
