I was really disappointed in this book. The concept was awesome - time travel to an older, glamorous New York - but the execution was awful. I didn't find any of the characters interesting or likable; they were all incredibly flat. The plot moved slowly... The romance was weakly developed. I don't believe I have anything nice to say about this book.

I love fairy tales in most forms (classic Disney, Once Upon a Time, books like Ella Enchanted), so I was excited to read this. Turned out to be absolutely abhorrent. The characters were flat. The Christian references were forced, obnoxious, and overdone. The plot was dull. The book was also incredibly sexist. Worst book I read all summer.

I absolutely loved it! J. K. Rowling did a fantastic job and proved again that she can write anything, not just Harry Potter.
