After the first 300 or so pages, House of Earth and Blood took a turn for the better.

When  I tell you the world building was STRONG, believe me!

This was a  thrilling rollercoaster ride of twists and turns, leaving me guessing until the final pages.

The plot has more layers than Michelle Obamas "wig" lol. HoEaB has a perfect combination of mystery, suspense, and shocking revelations.

It kept me on the entertained (after them first 300÷/- pages) I was desperate to uncover the truth and eager to see how everything would unfold, y'all!

 Ayana does not miss!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

The Unsettled captured my attention from the very first page to the very last word. It is a unique treasure that deftly combines the intricacies of familial ties, human emotions, and the indisputable impact of our past on the present.

My first true 5-star star of 2024!!

Look Closer by David Ellis is a suspenseful and captivating story.

I felt the pacing of the book was perfect. The chapters are concise and move the story along, making it difficult to stop listening. The author's writing style is engaging and easily immersed me into the world he has created.

I think if you're a fan of fantasy,  you will find "The Lord of Stariel" to have an engaging protagonist and a magical universe. Even while it isn't flawless, it's still a strong beginning for a promising series.

Better than expected!

Goodreads Synopsis: The conclusion to Livia's and Erik's duet in an exciting tantalizing romance

The Ever Queen's passionate resolution between Erik and Livia was simply amazing.

I want to thank LJ for allowing me the chance to read and review what I thought was a great book.

First of all, I'm not really sure how to feel about Lj's penchant for cliffhangers. When I first stumbled upon The Ever King in December, I was practically drooling over the cliffhanger, curious as to what would happen to The Songbird and her Serpent.

The story brings us back to the Ever Kingdom, where the conflicts are more vicious than ever, the stakes are higher, and love is deeper than ever. Above all, though, is a family that has been restored from shattered hearts and injustices.

Let Us Descend is a compelling depiction of a grim historical era that may not appeal to everyone.

Nonetheless, the novel stands as a testament to Ward's skilled storytelling, making it worthy of a read.  Ward takes on a thought-provoking journey into the historical realities of American slavery, moving through the haunting landscapes of American South, from rice fields to slave markets and sugar plantations.

Let Us Descend is a heavy read, one which can be emotionally taxing. Despite the heart-wrenching journey, the narrative payoff - a tale of rebirth and reclamation - is somewhat lacking.
