Genre: Fantasy Romance
I had high hopes for this one but it fell a little flat.
This is a dark fantasy romance set in Ancient Rome. Dragon shifters hold the power and rule Rome. Malina is enslaved by a powerful Roman who isn’t as dangerous as he seems.
Things that worked for me:
I really liked the setting and mythology background. I even liked how the “slave”/master plot played out. There is insta love which isn’t my favorite but it was expected in this one and didn’t bother me.
Things that didn’t work for me:
Dragon shifters. I think it would have been better if they had dragons.
The overall premise of the book sounds great but for some reason it just didn’t gel. If you don’t mind a little lack of depth and a sort of sloppy execution you might really love it.

Very much like The Agathas mixed with Pretty Little Liars & Gossip Girl, this book is about teens trying to solve a mystery. Plus the high school drama and the allure of the wealthy families. It rotates between 3 different POVs, each girl having a different background. I enjoyed the mystery and the twists and turns.

On Martha’s Vineyard, a first time mom in the throes of newborn life has her world crumble when her husband is accused of murder.
This was a good beach read especially since it was set on Martha’s Vineyard. It accurately portrays the stress and emotions first time moms go through while mixed in with a murder mystery. The twist was a little predictable but I enjoyed the plot and quick, easy pace of the book.

This is the conclusion to this duology. Think a magical forest full of the characters from Grimm’s fairytales reimagined as the people from the town who got lost in the woods.
The main characters are on a quest to break the curse that traps people in the forest and find out how who is behind everything.
I really enjoyed these books. They were twisted, whimsical, & a little dark. If you like Grimm’s fairytales with adventure fantasy you will like this one!

A girl returns to Iceland when a cold case involving her family resurfaces.
This was a solid mystery and I liked the Icelandic setting making it feel desolate and creepy. It was a pretty slow paced book until the end when the killer was revealed.

Great WWII book set in France about strong women surviving during the war. I love Kristin Hannah books and this one is no different. There is love and loss in this book and the storyline of the two sisters is so good you won’t be able to put it down.

Book 3 in a fast paced dystopian adventure series. I’m surprised this series isn’t more popular. The story is really good and for readers that love Divergent, Hunger Games, Red Queen, etc those types of dystopian books they would really enjoy this one.
Sometimes the transitions are a little choppy where they go from the desert to the forest and back and I wasn’t sure where they were exactly but it didn’t ruin the story for me. I can’t wait to see how it ends.

Satisfying conclusion to the series. All the books were different in their own way. I liked the first book most and this was a close second. I enjoyed the storyline of the healer in and the tainted water source. It was a little lengthy but I supplemented with the audiobook & enjoyed the narration.
