I love Rupi Kaur’s style, and how honest and simple this work in particular was. While it does cover a lot of the same topics as her previous collections, a book doesn’t need to be profound or never-been-done-before for it to be worth a read. I knocked off a star simply because I do wish there was just that little bit more included.

This is easily a book I plan to keep on my coffee table for both the aesthetic and to pick through it when I need a reminder that I can be good enough on my own how I am.

I loved the idea of reimagined fairytales with an lgbtq twist. The cover is pretty, the premise is promising, but I was overall a bit disappointed. I enjoyed the writing style, but for the length of each of the stories there was way too much focus on world-building and not enough on the stories themselves.

I would’ve loved to see one or two of these more developed or woven together, rather than so many short stories that felt a bit rushed and so separate. The tower was by far my favorite, if she ever chooses to expand on that one I would love to come back and read it!

This book surprised me in a lot of ways. There were twists I thought I knew were coming that still shocked me when they were revealed. I loved the characters, especially the core 6 and how their friendship develops. Not much else to say; this was just a good, solid, enjoyable read with just the right amount of angst.

This was the first book I had been able to finish for fun in years, and it absolutely broke me. The title says it all, and still nothing could prepare me for the journey this took me on. Absolutely will read again when I need a good cry. Excited to read other books by this author!

Unfortunately, this book just wasn’t really for me. It was decently interesting and pretty well developed, though, the writing style isn’t something I’d usually pick up. Listening to this was difficult since it wasn’t a full ebook, so I can’t full review that aspect, but it didn’t make it easier to enjoy the book. It would’ve been 3 stars but the ending brought it down to 2.5/2. If you enjoy books that take place in space and have read other books by this author though, I’d definitely recommend picking this up and trying it out.

Historical mystery is one of my favorite genres, and this is exactly the type of book I gravitate toward within it. Though it was a bit slow to start , once it got going I found the pace and the story to be quite enjoyable. This definitely could have been 4 stars from me, but it took so long to hook me it’s closer to 3.5.

I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator was pleasant and enjoyable, I’d definitely recommend listening to this one.
