I love it when a book surprises me. I love when I feel the tiny hairs on my neck stand to attention with every new revelation. And I especially love it when I can’t stop turning the pages. ‘The Dinner’ is a punch in the gut. I was impressed, horrified, surprised, and bewildered.
This is not your average thriller; it’s a psychological mind-bender. Taking it’s time, it takes a carving knife to our modern society, dissecting it under close scrutiny.
It may start out a bit slow, but I guarantee it’s worth pushing forward. It’s unsettling. And scary. But it was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it.
