A look at Inspector Nightingale's past and a fantastic romp through the jazz scene, underworld and demi-monde of 1920s New York. A great story, but I missed Peter Grant.
Kobna Holdbrook-Smith's narration was as perfect as ever.

I thought that the premise of the underground railroad being a real railway would detract from the realism of this boo, but if anything it made it more harrowing and realistic. A brilliant read, although harrowing and infuriating in many places.

A lovely warm romance with a great cast of characters, a nice dose of small town gossip and a very tense rescue scene that came a bit out of the blue. Can always rely on Jenny Colgan for a romance with added extras.

Absolutely wonderful book. Immersive. Great characters and premise. Kept me hooked and interested all  the way through. Realistic and gritty despite the fantasy plotline.

Interesting and enlightening. I enjoyed reading about the people who owned the book as much as the history of how it passed from hand to hand.

I found its final destination quite sad after it had been in the libraries of people who really loved and cared about it.

Propulsive mystery made more interesting by the period setting. Understandable, but not entirely likeable, characters.

A nice twist in the tail.

A very varied mixture of short and not so short stories. Some really emphasised the differences in lifestyle and belief between Japan and the west. Some I really enjoyed, some were hard going. Most had an element of distance that made it hard to identify with or sympathise with the characters.

A fun addition to the series. Happy to see Jonathan becoming more confident and self-aware. Lady Catherine is true to character and deliciously horrible.

Read to practise my Spanish with the English version to hand. Spotted one or two things I hadn't seen on previous (English) readings, so that was fun.

Enlightening, sometimes fun and sometimes scary, emotional poems about the sometimes harsh reality of being trans and queer.
