I think now wasn't a good focus time for this book

Cute! 

This is a good picture book and has great resources for adults in the back 

This is a fabulous retelling of Hayley and it was nice to see these characters in a more real world then usual 

I really recommend you read a review of this book by a Black person, trans/nonbinary person, or person with a mental illness. The writing here is excellent, but I lack the life experience and vocabulary to properly articulate how I feel about this book at this time.  

This was a nice little read, it made me want to read the authors detective novels

while the writing of this book is engaging, I really disliked the way the author treated his female, Black, and neurodiverse characters. the reduction of the Black Women to nonspeaking arms and legs of the Gestalt was especially gross. 

This gets 5 stars for my favorite poem this year Temptation of the Rope and for being a great set of poetry all around. I get all my books from the library and this is one of the few I really want to buy so I can mark it up and write my thoughts in the margins
