I really liked The Golden Spoon by this author and was excited she had another book coming out. I really liked The Golden Spoon and I really liked this book!
In “I Need You to Read This” we are following Alex who takes over the role of advice columnist “Dear Constance” who was murdered. While reprising the role of “Dear Constance” Alex is determined to find who committed the crime. As she starts digging into the murder, dark secrets start to emerge and Alex’s dark past surfaces.
I liked the cast of characters in this book, I liked Raymond, Janice and Tom. They were all fun and had unique personalities. This reads like a cozy mystery to me, with just a bit more thriller. I read the entire book in a day, it was a thrilling page turner. I liked that there was a little romance, sprinkled into our mystery as well. The book had some twists and turns that kept me on my toes. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries, mysteries and thrillers.

Escape Room from hell? I think that’s a good description of this book.
Nina discovers her father has a secret house on the island of Gorda that she inherited after his death. She knew nothing about this house and she was suspicious. When she arrives things are not what she expects. She ends up venturing into the basement where a deadly escape room awaits.
I have to say when I went into this I wasn’t expecting the story to go in the direction that it did. I didn’t mind it though, it was very fast paced and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There are a few characters in this story and it’s interesting to see how they are connected. I would say this is a quick read and definitely a popcorn thriller type read. If you like escape rooms and puzzles you will enjoy this.

This was my first Sephen Graham Jones and I’m glad I started with this book. This felt like a coming of age story for our 17 year old protagonist Tolly. This is told in an autobiography style by Tolly himself. He writes about his entire experience in detail. I think we all can see a piece of Tolly in all of us. He is a scrawny kid growing up in the 80’s grieving the recent loss of his father. He is feeling somewhat lost and confused on how he should act which makes him a target by some school bullies. He goes to a party one evening and his life and many others change forever.
I enjoyed following Tolly and his best friend Amber throughout this story. I thought their friendship was strong and SGJ wrote their friendship well. You rooted for Tolly throughout the book even though he was doing some terrible things. There were some pretty gruesome scenes in here and I made the mistake of reading before bed, hello nightmares, but that’s the whole point of reading horror right? Overall, I would recommend this book to the horror buffs and SGJ fans out there. You won’t be disappointed in Tolly and his Slasher persona.

Well this took me by surprise.
I will admit I went into this a little apprehensive because Sager is a hit or miss author for me, but this was a hit! This was my 6th book I've read by him and dare I say this was my favorite? I liked that there wasn't 8 plot twists happening (hello, The Only One Left...), but this book still kept me on my toes. I liked Sager writing in a males perspective, I think I liked that the most about the story. Ethan was a great protagonist who I was rooting for, but sometimes wasn't sure if I should be.
