Who knew bird watching could be so cut throat? I loved the idea of a Nature Center full of eccentric birdwatchers on Fair Isle. Dude, I LOVE this series!!!

However - the ending was quite shocking and I wasn't prepared for it. I kept listening to the audio of this version and thinking that I'd misunderstood something.

Have I said that I love this series? Because I love this series!!

Another fabulous cast of characters! Once again, I didn't guess the murderer. The setting is gorgeous and this series is so much fun to read!

I think this is my favorite Ruth Galloway so far. I loved the witchy elements and visiting Pendragon's cottage. That's where I want to live! This novel was very Indiana Jones-like, which was great fun. A friend of Ruth's believes he discovers the remains of King Arthur, who is apparently the hero of a group of white supremacists? Murder quickly follows. But that's okay, because Ruth Galloway, forensic archeologist, is on the case!

Another excellent Ruth Galloway mystery! This one features the remains of a Victorian legend, Mother Hook, who was rumored to murder little children in her care. Meanwhile, there are children disappearing left and right in Ruth's current world!

I love these characters more with each additional novel. I'm going to be sad when I finish the series!

Another enjoyable Shetland mystery. I love getting to know the detectives and the people living on the Shetland Islands. This one was a bit creepy - about a local legend of a girl who drowned in the 20s. The legend says the appearance of her ghost helps couples get pregnant. Detective Perez is on the case when a young woman, Eleanor, goes missing after claiming to see the ghost.

This book contained so much poetry and so many meanings and I feel completely insufficient in writing this. It was a beautiful book and about so many things. It's a book about our identities, how they change and who we leave behind. It's a book about race, how we see each other and how we treat each other. It's a book about love, how our connection to one another never really breaks.

This book was born into the world at the perfect moment and I'm thankful for it.

It was nice to visit Flavia and her family again. She always cracks me up and I spend the entire time with a huge, goofy grin on my face.

My favorite Inspector Gamache so far! A murder has occurred at a secluded monastery and the murderer can only be one of the monks there. Armand and Jean-Guy are on the case!

This was beautiful in so many ways - I always marvel at Penny's description of food, but she's also such a genius at recognizing the motivations of others and how they factor into our decision making. This is such a fantastic series!!
