I really loved this book and basically flew through it. It held so many important messages and I am certain I will reread it in the future.
I loved this installment of the series. I couldn't wait for this release and it delivered everything that I hoped it would do. I loved to see how the love between King and Cress has developed and how they will do everything for each other. I also loved that we got to see more of the other Fallen Men, especially Priest. As always Gianna Darlings's writing and her world sucked me in completely and I read the novel in under a day. I cannot wait for the next installment in the series or any other book that Gianna Darling will write.
I am very glad to have finally read this classic novel. I really enjoyed the story and for someone that very limited knowledge about these times in the US, it did a fantastic job of portraying them. I liked to read about a character that is meant to be unlikeable, that does not confine to social norms. At the same time, I took a liking to Scarlet as she is a really strong female character in a time where women were usually meant to stay at home and take care of the children.
This book took me completely by surprise. I went into it completely blind and expected something totally different but what I got out of it was so much better. I liked how the novel dealt with sensitive topics and how sometimes things are not what you believe them to be.
I found it quite hard to rate this. I was raised a Christian, so I had a basic knowledge before reading the bible in its entirety. I mostly did it because I am a literature student and it is a highly referend book and so I wanted to get a deeper knowledge into it.
I really liked this novel as it portrays very good Elio's feelings towards Oliver and how he is dealing with it. It also shows how one can see things in a different light when they are distant from you and you then realize that they were not as you imagined them.
I really really liked this novel and I was very sad to read the ending. I think it portrays very good what happens if people get too greedy in science or are the opinion they can do to other people what they want. Furthermore, it illustrates beautifully what happens if people think themselves superior to others and do experiments on other humans.
I am not entirely sure how I fell about this novel usually I love everything that has the Scottish Highlands in it but this one fell a bit flat for me. Could have to do something with the length of the novel. At this point, I am not sure if I am continuing the series if I do I will definitely do it via audiobook again as that was really helpful.
I really did not like this novel, I am not sure if I did not understand the purpose of the book or if it just went over my head.
That was definitely not my cup of tea and reading a book about a super-flu in times of a worldwide pandemic did not really help it. I felt that the plot was to drawn out and the story could have been told shorter.
