I liked that installment more than the last one but they lately only fall flat for me. I am going to finish the series and that is my only motivation in picking them up now.
I liked to get an insight into the Congo at the time of independence and how it influenced people but I did not really like the characters or could associate with them. Therefore, sadly, the novel fell a bit flat for me.
I liked this installment but as with all the later installments, it fell a bit flat for me. It seemed like the death in this installment seemed very constructed and in retrospect, I can see the build-up for it in the previous installments.
I am not entirely sure how I fell about this novel usually I love everything that has the Scottish Highlands in it but this one fell a bit flat for me. Could have to do something with the length of the novel. At this point, I am not sure if I am continuing the series if I do I will definitely do it via audiobook again as that was really helpful.
I loved this short story collection and the cause behind it. I definitely found few new authors to check out and I will reread some of these stories for years to come.
Disclaimer: I have not read the other books in this series read but I wanted to read the one Giana Darling wrote first.
I have to say I loved this book, and even though I was confused sometimes due to the backstories, I still completely enjoyed it, I will now definitely read the rest of the series.

I really did not like this novel, I am not sure if I did not understand the purpose of the book or if it just went over my head.
I was quite confused by this book in the beginning as it jumps between different characters and you are thrown into the middle of this world. I really liked it by the end but due to it having quite a slow beginning it was only a three star read for me but I will definitely continue with the series.
That was definitely not my cup of tea and reading a book about a super-flu in times of a worldwide pandemic did not really help it. I felt that the plot was to drawn out and the story could have been told shorter.
This book was a very quick read but I never really got into it. I understand what it is trying to say but I just so not gripped by it.
