I love the butcher boys. This book is only from Cassidy's POV which is cool. I've read His Pretty Little Burden/Queen whis is another Duet within the Kids of the District series, so I have a bit of insite into the future and that made for some interesting little tidbits that you might not notice otherwise, but the good thing about these books is you can read each of the Butcher brothers' stories out of order. Nicci knows how to write a compelling character and story. This book and these characters have worked their way into my heart and the most amazing thing about this might be that Cassidy has genuinely changed my outlook on life and myself and the people around me. It takes a special kind of skill to write a book that changes its readers into better people.

I am a wreck. I love them. I know what happens later. Way down the line. When Clay and Fawn's story takes place. So I knew how it ended from the beginning. But I was so engrossed in the story that the knowledge didn't matter. Screaming, crying, absolutely losing my shit. Every page had me a mess. I'm still a mess. I wish I was joking when I said I was so unable to put this book down I read it in one night and slept through my lab the next morning (sorry professor… at least reading is educational right..?) I’m on my way now to read the next installment… wish my sleep schedule luck!

No offence to the other Butcher boys but Bronson is my favorite. This book tore me to shreds. I've read all the ther books, so I knew about how Victoria treated her sons but reading about is from Bronson's point of view. Reading him at 6 years old and witnessing the abuse. It killed me. It was not an easy read I’ll be honest with you. I had to put it down for a day for the sake of how hard I was crying. I think it might have hurt worse because Bronson and Max both remind me of people I love. Another fabulously written book from Nicci Harris, I love everything you make. I am looking forward to Xander's story.
