Addie is a woman born in the late 1600s who bargains a deal with a god that changes her life forever. It explores humanity, love, loss, and how humans can leave a lasting impact.

For me, this book was very, very slow. Did I like the book? Yes? Would I read it again? No. Do I think everyone should read it? Also no. I think you would need to be in a very specific mindset to read this. You would also need to like what I call contemplative or reflective fiction where the author is forcing you to feel how the characters feel and think about how it applies to your life too and if you are making the same mistakes as the characters.

This book has a lot of potential but literally nothing is explained for the background, there is no world building and all of a sudden the fmc who hates the breed of the mmc is now fully in love with him, protecting him and spilling her secrets. Em and Nkita seem like they could be good characters but this still needs significant work to be a first book to start a series.
