Not going to lie, at certain points I was filling in the story with excerpts from all those Fleetwood Mac biographies I’ve ready, but finally! Fiction to channel my 70s rock n roll fascination! This was the easiest read, almost tailor made for me — I feel like it would be the PERFECT thing to get someone out of a reading slump. A fast romp with some heartbreak along the way. A little anti-climactic, but like... life is like that too, I guess. 4.5 stars, do yourself a favor and hang out with this cool-girl of a book for a bit!

This is one of those genre-defying books that I don’t think will ever leave my head. Just something so special. It’s poetic and grounded in queer feminist theory with an element of magical realism and also just the most hard hitting real realism. I was so ready to eye roll my way through this and instead I want to reread it immediately to pick up all the nuance I’m sure I missed.
