Carol, why did you read this book if you don't particularly care about Lea Michele?

Oh well, fictional friend inside my head, I have a really great explanation about that!

Uh.

No, I don't really have a great explanation for that.

What I can tell you is this: yesterday I was super tired and feeling really down about the pressure of life and becoming a full time adult. Deep, scary things. And I was looking for things to uplift me, so I listened to a Spring Awakening song (a broadway musical in wich Michele used to work in). But that got me more upset (obviously), and then I stumbled upon a video for Jonathan Groff interviewing her about her book, and well, people said it was an uplifting read. SO I though: well, why not.

(That's the type of thinking that usually gets me in trouble. But forget that.)

On a side note, here's a gif of Jonathan in Glee because the episodes he was on were the only ones I watched:

TO THE BOOK, so, the book has recipes, and beauty tips (I actually pickep a thing or two). And then she gives life advice, that I'm not sure she's qualified to give, and talks about how she succeed thanks to her family and how she likes nights in and adores moisturizing. Yup. Honestly? I won't really recommend this read to anyone. But it was actually a nice reading? It made me feel better, it was in fact uplifting, even though it made me roll my eyes.

So the two stars are due to me feeling better after reading it. Because really, it was like reading an magazine article, and not a really thought out one at that. Like those silly teenage magazine articles. She talks a little about her life, in no deph at all, she barely mentions her boyfriend who OD'd, and c'mon, and know that's deeply personal and she doesn't want to talk to everyone about that, but it IS a auto-biography, MEANING she should talk about her life, right? Not about soups and grilled cheese sandwiches. Right???

(That’s very vulture-like and morbidly-curious of me, and I’m glad she didn’t actually talk about it because it’s iffy to bank on that and no one needs to share trauma like that.)

So, let me just emphasize one actual thing before I leave:
Note to self: START READING BOOKS WITH MORE DEPH!!!
