An enjoyable book. I liked the way the story developed, the nuances that foreshadowed things to come, the satisfying resolution. Only four stars because there was some "fat" in the story, things that made it longer than it needed to be, not to mention ten percent of the book was back matter. Does that affect the story as a whole? No, but it was annoying enough for me to downgrade one star.
Where to begin. Let me first say, as a privileged advance reader for this novel, I didn’t want the experience to end. I am a devourer of books, reading from beginning to end, but this is one I wanted to savor.
Baxley Powell is a Dreamwalker and as such, she is a psychic consultant to the police department. When a meth lab goes up in smoke, she’s called on to find out what happened. What happens next carries her through a maze of interconnected crimes and through a series of suspects to find out whodunit. The ending will surprise you.
Assisted by the friend Baxley met in the last Dreamwalker book, she learns ever more about her “superpowers” that allow her to cross between the realms of the living and the dead. The two of them share a spiritual symbiosis which protects them and sharpens their skills. This book brings us the answer to “Who is the Watcher,” and oh, my beating heart, she finds resolution to her greatest desire – she finds out what happened to her missing husband, who has been presumed dead and who she refuses to acknowledge as such.
Expertly crafted, there are so many good things about this book, from the mystery of what happened to the meth lab, to love of animals, to protecting our children and wanting the best for them, love of family, and more. This book has earned a place not only on my e-reader, but also on my bookshelf in hard cover/paperback to be read again and again.

Is she or isn’t she?
Not my favorite by Teresa Medeiros, but it was light-hearted and fun. The hero is a bit inconsistent and I wanted to smack him over the head more than once, but he does always come through.

I wasn't sure I wanted to like this one when I started - there were things that jumped off the page at me in the first couple of chapters, but the story sucked me in. May's characters are well drawn, the antagonists are evil to the bone and you grow to really hate them, hate seeing them appear on the page for any reason (which shows how well she did her job!). I'll be looking for the next book in the trilogy!
I have been a lifelong Victoria Holt fan, and as I re-read this book, I remember why. She has a twist of a phrase, a view of life that endures and draws a reader in. Is it improbable the main character would be where she was? Absolutely. That she could hold a position that seemed, at best, contrived? Despite that, you walk alongside, seeing things through this character's eyes and feeling her emotions. Danger lurks at every corner. Who killed Caroline's sister? Who killed Napier's wife? Why are they trying to kill Caroline? Suspects around every corner bring you to the satisfying conclusion.
Ms. Holt's stories continue to entertain, even all these years after her death.

Murder she wrote meets The Sopranos? Not quite but this book is so much fun. None of Charlotte’s friends are sorry to see Beatrice Hughes, the local retirement community prima donna and attention seeker die, but when they find out it wasn’t a natural death, they discover fodder for their mystery writing. Full of surprises and an unexpected ending, this debut novel is a fun read full of quirky characters. Recommended.
Former patrol partners Lexi and Marv are brought back together when Lexi feels threatened by a drug kingpin who likely killed her husband. Now working for the private security firm, Blackthorne, Inc., Marv is assigned to protect Lexi after she hires the firm to look into the threats against her. Without a husband keeping Lexi at a distance, things heat up between them fairly quickly.
Terry Odell has advanced her Blackthorne series into the next generation, and this book is a thrilling addition. Filled with suspense and covert ops that don’t always go as planned, I enjoyed this latest installment. Recommended.

A solid 4.5 stars.
I was immediately pulled into the story wondering how these two people who couldn't possibly get together would get together. The story was well-constructed, the characters carefully drawn. I really enjoyed the book... until the end. Even then, I liked it, but the ending did seem rushed (which is where the 1/2 star deduction comes in). A great story, well written which I would recommend.

So awesome
Kristan Higgins has a way of relating “any person’s” life and taking their challenges to help them grow and thrive. I loved Nora’s indomitable spirit, and related on so many levels to every step of her journey. Well done.

Gut wrenching, heart breaking, soul rendering
Jill Shalvis does it again. This book creeps up on you and steals every single one of your emotions with wit and humor and sizzle and sass. Loved this book so much.
