Another winner

Ms Dare expertly and adeptly unravels ways to buck society, to allow the underdog her due and, when all hope has been abandoned to convention, she brings the hero and heroine together in their perfect happily ever after

A well crafted mystery

Four stars. At times the story moved slowly, and I was confounded that Maggie's hair changed colors, but overall the magic and passion carried me through. I will be reading another in the series.

Four mysteries, all with enough twists to keep you guessing!

In Trouble Like a Freight Train Coming - Tina Whittle gives us a prequel to her scrappy Tai Randolph character and Tai's disavowed family of sketchy characters. For fans of Ms. Whittle, this story does not disappoint.

In The Last Heist, a jewel thief takes a chance and perpetrates his last caper close to home, a rule he's vowed never to break, and in doing so, he gets more than he bargained for.

The Blue Nude is a love story to the lowcountry, taking the reader through the ebbs and flows of the tides and their affects on the waterways while a disengaged ex-husband tracks down the truth when the police suspect him of stealing a famous work of art with his ex for the insurance money.

Low Tide at Tybee walks along with Seamus McCree as trouble finds him while on vacation. What starts out as petty theft turns into grand theft auto and then to a real estate scam, which author James M. Jackson ties together neatly in the satisfying conclusion.

All four provide the perfect diversion for a quiet day of reading.

A sweet holiday romance

Caught in a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, Noella misses her birthday party with her twin sister and finds no rooms in the inns, until she walks into the Starlight Inn. The proprietors, Nick (also a Christmas baby) and his sister embrace her, giving her a sense of peace that is missing with her own family. Add in a mysterious pseudo angel and everyone's lives are altered by the blizzard.

I won a copy of this novella from a blogger, although it was on my TBR list. Lucie Ulrich writes beautiful stories and this one is no exception. While maybe a little heavy on the clichés, I enjoyed reading The Starlight Inn and would highly recommend it.

Excellent

First, I hate billionaire novels, but this one worked for me. A Cinderella story, with a gutsy heroine and a repressed hero. Loved it.

I enjoyed the story. The characterizations were solid, the plot wasn't completely predictable. There were places I thought the story could end, where things were resolved, but new subplots were introduced as if the author was trying to make word count, but the story still flowed well. I would recommend this book.

Too much of a good thing? I like steamy romance. I like alpha heroes. This had too much of both. Personal preference, I'm sure, but it was too much for me. And then there was the way the chapter heads mirrored a rap song with the artist's name so you'd know who it was. No it wasn't a bad book, just not a fan of "rap."

Outstanding ghost/not ghost story

Tina Whittle has done it again, from her spot on descriptions to her engaging characters. This novella takes us on a ghost hunt disguised as a Valentines Day celebration. Fun, romantic and satisfying. Highly recommended.
