Yeah, I know. I thought this was intriguing enough to finish, but the twist was predicatable to me and ended very abruptly.

This was soo cute and cheesy and I loved it all! I’d say the perfect book to wrap up my reading year.

I was on the fence about what to rate this, but decided to round it up.

I enjoyed the fact that April was unlikeable in a very real way. It took me a while to fully immerse myself into this story, but I enjoyed it. I am interested to see what happens in the next book!

But also, what the heck kind of an ending was that?!

Wow. What an incredible story with a beautiful friendship in a time of such darkness. Just be warned, your heart may break into a thousand little pieces.

*I recommend the audiobook because there are moments where the narrator sings, and for me it enhanced the story and I just loved it.

OH MY HEART!!!
This is such a wonderfully heartbreaking, yet beautiful story!

I haven't read much historical fiction (as of yet) but the writing is just so beautiful that you are easily immersed into the story. I adored the relationship between Ruby & Charlotte, you could definitely feel the love between these two friends who turned into family.
By the end I was feeling ALL THE FEELS and crying all the tears.

5 (beautiful & teary eyed) stars from me.

*The audio book is fantastic!

When does the next book come out BECAUSE I NEED IT

This is such a beautiful story of grief, hope, forgiveness & love. K.A. Reynolds’ lyrical writing captivated me from the beginning with her beautiful dedication. After reading her message I knew I would love her book and I am so happy that held true!

Part of the dedication from K.A. Reynolds:
“And for the one reading this now, who may need a friend to help navigate the darkness, listen close. I’ve traveled this dark path before and know where the lanterns are hidden. It’s treacherous to go alone. But if you’re ready, take my hand. We can walk together.”

Simply. Beautiful.❤️

As an Army wife, am I a masochist for reading a (fictional) book that deals with such real, personal, devastating subject matter? Maybe.
THIS BOOK destroyed me!! I was sobbing, actively sobbing, whilst reading the last 80 pages. And many other times throughout. This book will be in my heart and on my mind for a long, long time.

This is such a beautifully heartbreaking story that Amy Harmon weaves together so eloquently. It is hard not to just immerse yourself in it completely, and whole heartedly. (Just be prepared for your heart to get stomped on time and again. But don’t we all secretly love that while reading? ..Just me?)

The relationships in this book are some of the best I’ve ever read about! Bailey & Fern’s friendship, and love for each other is just awe inspiring! I loved their growth in this story, together and individually. I also grew up with my cousin as my best friend so that definitely touched my heart strings and had me reminiscent of our childhood memories. Bailey absolutely holds a place in my heart. I won’t forget him for a long time, if ever. Ugh, he’s my favorite!
But also the friendships amongst the wrestlers? Although I didn’t particularly like one of the 5 young men, their friendship was beautiful to see. I have to say that of the wrestlers, besides Ambrose, Paulie was my favorite. “Do you feel that?”

This was quite a sinister read and there were a few “twists” I pinpointed early on, but I was still entertained.
