I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I loved this given the forbidden aspect of the relationship.. somehow I was able to look past it so I’ll blame it on the amazing storytelling from miss Sara okay hahaha.

Garret & Mia are step siblings, so be aware of that going in. They first meet when Mia is 8 and Garrett is 21. Whenever they’re in the same room after first meeting, they just can’t get along. They don’t get intimate until 15 years later when Garrett stumbles upon a live that Mia is hosting and he learns that she is a cam girl. As a voyeur, his interest is sparked immediately and he can’t help but converse with her under the name of a close friend. Things get hot & heavy from this point on!!

I do wish we got more backstory about Garrett as we learned that he struggled with depression and manic episodes in his twenties, and still did present day. It was nice seeing his affection towards Mia grow, as twisted as that might sound lol. I love seeing a flawed/broken hero find their person!

Sooo I may be from an island, but this actually terrified me 😭

Can you imagine going on a 3 week research trip underwater, to then being stuck beneath the surface for SIX MONTHS?!?

Abso-fckn-lutely not. 

The quiet subtlety in its horror and the psychological eerie vibes were on point. I liked the dual POVs between the wives and getting to learn more about each of them. 

Not to mention the obscurely ambiguous ending?! I’ll definitely need to reread this one in the future because I think I’ll uncover some tidbits I might’ve missed during my first read. A brilliant and strange little story that might give me some nightmares tonight. 

3 stars may be generous, but it was pretty entertaining & VERY messy. Just what I signed up for 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Backman delivers a short yet utterly impactful story as we read about a grandfathers journey with Alzheimer’s.

Make sure to have tissues handy because this one will hit you right in the feels!!

a quite intense and raw look at the dark side of fame as a model/actress in the entertainment industry. so many powerful quotes that I’m sure women everywhere can unfortunately, and sadly, relate to. tread with caution and check content warnings before picking this one up.💛

This was funny, cute and definitely addicting enough to make me want to continue on with this series.

I’m interested to see what happens next.
