I’m sad to say I did not enjoy this. For a man in his mid thirties, Camden acted like he got his first b*ner every time he was near Pippa.

I have been cracked open & healed over the course of reading this book. I cried a bunch. Laughed a whole lot.
Justin IS the epitome of “if he wanted to, he would.”
I so badly wanted to crawl inside the book to give Emma the biggest hug. My heart hurt for her so so much and like an older sister, I was proud of the person she grew into at the end.
This story is one of two people finding love, healing while dealing with family trauma, and building a found family.
I am in tears with how much this story touched my very soul. Abby came through with another heartwarming & humorous book. You’re not going to want to miss this one❤️

I had a great time with this mystery/suspense novel and am impressed with Elston’s adult debut!
This gave me Mission Impossible meets Kingsmen vibes with the secret agent aspect, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
I’m excited to see what other adult novels Elston brings in the future.

"Hearing Ruby laugh felt like I was witnessing something special. Something you earned. Something you cherished.”
After eating up Loving Romeo, I was SO excited to be back with this small town gang and seeing River as our main man this time around!
Wild River follows River and Ruby, the daughter of one of River’s clients who comes back to town to help run her father’s bar after a health scare. There’s an immediate dislike among the two with River’s unattached nature, and Ruby’s feisty black cat energy, but the way they couldn’t avoid each other in Magnolia Falls really amped up the tension and eventual angst between the two. The constant tension finally gives way that leads to a no strings attached arrangement, but that only lasts so long until somebody catches feelings and things start to feel real.
Ruby is such an independent, caring heroine that would do anything and everything for her family. There’s a scene involving River manhandling Ruby’s brother after he speaks so rudely to her, and I was SCREAMING!! I love a protective man 🙏🏼
I will say, this didn’t have nearly as much groveling as I hoped from River, but I can’t deny my soft spot for him.
I loved seeing the band of brothers interact but again, I just wish we got more of their interactions like we did in book 1. The friendship banter is truly top tier!
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Kingston because the way this ended has me eager to see it all play out 😍😍

Every now and then a book comes along that ends up surprising me with how much I absolutely adored it. This strange little novel has managed to burrow itself into my heart with its beautiful prose and introspective nature.
Shark Heart follows newlyweds Wren and Lewis as they navigate life after Lewis’ life altering diagnosis where he turns into a great white shark over the course of nine months.
I KNOW what you’re thinking, because I thought it too before picking this up. “Why would I want to read a book like that?” Well my friend, that’s because this is more than just that.. it’s a tale of marriage, motherhood, metamorphosis & letting go.
We see Wren care for Lewis is ways that display true love, as she has to learn to care for him during his transition. The love between the two never falters and watching Wren do everything she can for the love of her life was beautiful, heart wrenching, yet inspirational at the same time.

”The surface of love was a feeling, but beyond this thin layer, there was a fathomless, winding maze of caverns offering many places to see and explore. Wren used to think romantic passion only grew more intense in the depths. But this belief was naive and impractical, a by-product of a certainty-obsessed culture that equates love with longing and views ambivalence as a fatal flaw.
Wren saw that now how passion was delicate and temporary, a visitor, a feeling that would come and go. Feelings fled under pressure; feelings did not light the darkness. What remained strong in the deep, the hard times, was love as an effort, a doing, a conscious act of will. Soulmates, like her and Lewis, were not theoretical and found. They were tangible, built.”
I had to share the whole scene to showcase the absolute beauty that Habeck brings forth through these pages. This story. These characters.
The author managed to weave together this story so beautifully. I am in awe at this debut, how this all came together and how much this story touched me. The exploration of motherhood, love and hope was done so well. I applaud Habeck’s creative genius for delivering such a strange novel that has so much heart at its core. I know I’ll be revisiting this book to relive this story again.💙
