Thank you Luna literary for this arc!
I was really excited for this going in seeing all the good reviews but sadly this fell flat for me :( and I tried really hard to get into it, everyone else seems to love it so maybe it’s just me…
Very minor spoilers here but I dunno. I just didn’t like the characters or the writing either. It was meant to be childhood friends/brothers beat friend/second chance/it’s always been you/secret identity vibe and that certainly hit. But the plot itself was so off mark.
1, I thought this was a sports romance but baseball isn’t really even mentioned until 70% in lol
2, the sex/spice is so short it feels almost like the author wanted to add it to add it and not because it fit. It was an attempt at open door, not closed, so I was confused why it was so short lol. Like each instance was maybe 3 sentences and I couldn’t tell if time was flying or if our mc’s just get off at the press of a button. The dialogue during those scenes also felt… I’m not sure. Off? Childish? Hard to put into words but it just felt not great.
3, the 3rd act conflict made me so angry haha. I can’t say much else without spoilers but the whole secret identity reveal felt like it could have happened in a million other ways than what we got.
4, the relationship between Syd and her brother and Koa also just kinda gave me the ick. Like wym you didn’t actually care if they dated but you all followed a rule you made at 13 into your 20’s lol.
Most reviews seems to people loving this book so again maybe it’s me 🤷🏽♀️ this was my first book from this author but since a handful of issues I saw here were more writing style opposed to plot I don’t think I’ll check out other books of hers. If you do give this book a chance I do hope you enjoy it!!

-Singleish mom
-Mechanic x Radio Host
-Coworkers/Cohosts
-Semi Forbidden
-Grumpy/Sunshine (theyre both a little grumpy though)
I do not think there are words in my brain to explain how much i LOVED THIS BOOK. I actually preordered the purple Walmart special edition and it arrived today, literally within minutes of me finishing the audiobook. Fate, i tell you.
Aiden and Lucy are THAT couple and i am so in love with them. I was actively getting so upset while reading this, that it wasn't MY life! 😭 BK is such a lover girl, she writes the cutest romance books ever. I knew after loving Lovelight Farms this book would be such a banger.

The audiobook is like... half a duet narration? But so good. i REALLY wish it was a full duet because the two voice actors NAILED this. I initially felt like the voice for Aiden felt a little too young for them to be late 20's but the voice eventually grew on me?? I loved how this was produced, with the little radio/podcasty bits in-between chapters. Its exactly as i wanted and hoped for. Ever since i listened to "Love and other conspiracies" by Mallory Marlow, i had high hopes that they would add the same vibes to this audiobook recording since that book is also based around a podcast - its an easy way to immerse your readers into your book and both that book and this one did it and I'm very happy about that

Lets start with how HE KEPT A LIST OF HER FAVORITE SHIT SO HE WOULD REMEMBERRRRRRRRR. oh my god Aiden the man that you are. You spent so much time worried you weren't allowed to love, and then fell head over heels in the best way.
I don't want to spoil anything but this book starts with a curious little girl who calls into a radio show on behalf of her mom. Her mom ends up intercepting the phone call and everything explodes from there. Lucy tells the story of her lack of a love life to Love talk radio show host Aiden, and Aiden's station manager decides "lets help Lucy find love" while also helping their station get its ratings up. Its such a fun road for us to watch Lucy discover things about herself and her love languages, while also seeing her quirky semi-found family dynamics, while also learning of Aiden's troubled history with his love life/family, and how the two of them end of becoming the most magical couple to ever couple.

I've never seen sleepless in Seattle admittedly, but this book makes me want to now! I also learned after finishing that this will be a 3 book interconnected series. I have guesses, but unlike most romance series like this, i have no idea who the 2nd book will be about 👀 but i love this little world that BK has built for us and I'm so so excited for the rest of these books to come out!
There are also 2 spotify playlists i found that people made for this book and they're both so cute and perfect so look those up and give them a listen if you wana feel the fun vibes! 💜

3.5⭐/3.5🌶️
-Doctor x Circus worker 🤡
-Touch her and die
-Cute raccoon friend
-Minor primal play moments
-Cotton candy is our food of choice for this book 😳
-Timeline is slightly parallel to B&B and L&L! All characters intertwine through the book
Rose & Fionn were maybe my least favorite of this triology, but their story was still very cute! Very unique with the circus aspect. However their relationship, it felt almost forced in a way. Their chemistry was cute but i dont know, i just didnt feeeeeeel their passion. It was more lust at first sight that grew into love, but it felt like they barely got to know each other through the story. Their love came from their shared experience at childhood and sorta that alone? Sadly, i just felt kind of bored :") The spice was delicious as expected from Brynne, so that kind of kepy me going haha.
As usual, the audiobook production was pure joy and done so so well. With all 3 of the books in this series i beg you to give the audio a try even if you dont normally do it.
Also the bonus content!!! I have so many thoughts 👀
