This inspiring book is a great tool for teaching kids about prayer. What is prayer? When should I pray? How can I know that God hears me? What should I pray for? All these questions are answered through Scripture verses and devotional pages that explain the spiritual truths from the Bible. Each little section has gorgeous illustrations and cartoons that correspond to each lesson.

I can see myself reading this with a young Sunday School class, or reading it at home with a child. While I was reading it, I was inspired even as an adult! This book encourages the reader, not only to learn about what prayer is, but to put those prayers into action!
I'm so impressed with this powerful little book!

This is a beautiful retelling of Bible stories, exactly as they are described in Scripture, but with simplified language for children. The illustrations are gorgeous with bright colors, and I love the structure of the chapters.
This book could use a copy editor though. There are a few misspellings and some punctuation problems, but other than that, a very enjoyable book!
I can imagine myself reading this book aloud to children in a Sunday School class or at home!

This book and CD set puts me in the Christmas mood! I love how the 12 Days of Christmas gets a new and unique revamp, telling the true story of the Christ-child's birth. The illustrations are beautiful, the song is catchy, and I love the attention to detail in the story.
This book makes me want to sing along!

This book is inspirational and helpful to any writer! The author gives encouragement from their own personal experiences with writing and from Scripture. Each chapter starts with a Scripture verse that has to do with writing in some way, and at the back of the book there is an index of Bible verses that are paraphrased to apply to writing and publishing.

Several chapters focus on writing as a healing exercise and a way to work through your own grief and move past painful experiences. Other chapters talk about worshiping and glorifying God through writing. There's even a chapter about writing music, which I was happy to see since I'm a pianist!

The author made me think about aspects of writing that I had not truly considered before; like writing with truthfulness even if I'm writing fiction, and writing with grace. I need to learn to trust myself and my writing instincts, and not be such a perfectionist.

This little book really inspired me to write more, to write for God, and to write with abandon and freedom!

I am so impressed with this graphic novel! The artwork is beautiful and each panel shows a clear story. The classic story of the Scarlet Letter is condensed but retains its integrity, and the characters are powerfully depicted. The tension and emotion of the story really comes through in the art and dialogue. Even small changes in the coloring or lighting show a change in mood or scene, and as the characters develop and change through the story, their appearance slightly changes to reflect that as well.

I was especially delighted in the way little Pearl was drawn. She looks like an imp straight from fairyland. Her wildness and sweetness are perfectly balanced in the art and in her dialogue. You can see her anger and her love, her free nature and her curiosity all so clearly! Beautifully done!

The tension, both romantic and fearful, between Hester and the men in her life is palpable as it comes through each panel. It's such a big part of the emotional landscape of the story.

I was glad to see that a lot of the symbolism of the original classic is highlighted in this manga. The serpent around Chillingsworth, showing his mania and darkness, and the emphasis on sunlight and shadows, and how the letter A on Hester's bosom is almost a character by itself... all wonderfully done!

I can't wait to read more of the Manga Classics! It's such a unique and lovely way to experience these classic stories.

I didn't really like the artwork in this graphic novel. It's very dark, but I suppose it matches the subject material, which is all about drug rings, child slavery, and prostitution. It's told from a Christian perspective, all about rescuing people from those things, so it has a positive message, but still... it makes for distressing reading.

This story follows a professor who is studying ancient myths about creation and snakes in various religions and he finds a connection between them all to suggest that the story of Eden is actually true. Through the adventures and dangers he faces, he comes to believe that there truly is a God who extends grace to mankind.

I loved all the action and drama going on! The characters have these internal struggles that match the outward struggles of the story, and we see a lot of character development.

The story also gives opportunity for the characters to learn about things like the true nature of undeserved grace, why God allows bad things to happen, and how to be on guard against people who twist truth to their own purposes. The messages are deep and thoughtful, but don't feel preachy. The spiritual themes flow easily within the story.
