Me encantó la dulce historia de este libro. ¡El pequeño búho es tan lindo! Este es un gran libro para leer en voz alta y la historia es divertida.

I loved the sweet story in this book. Little Owl is so cute! This is such a great book to read out loud, and the story is funny.

The illustrations are simple and brightly colored, but they have a certain charm that is very attractive. I like the emotional style of the art, and the way you can feel the movement and action in each scene.

The rest of the year she lives with her peasant grandmother in a small village learning to be an herbalist healer. As Corie grows into a young woman, she begins to realize the depth of the court intrigue that surrounds her half-sister, Elisandra. She determines to do everything she can to help her sister. She soon discovers that there are others who need her help too; the magical elven people who are held as slaves in the castle.

I loved everything about this book! The magic, the world-building, the exciting plot, the writing style, the complex characters: everything is golden!

There is one scene where the Aliora, the elven people, give a music concert, and the descriptions of the music and its effect on Corie are wondrous. I am a musician, so I love when music plays a role in stories. This was so enchanting!

The magical skills of the elves are very interesting. When they touch you, they have an emotional impact on each person to make them calm and happy. It was such an imaginative addition that made every relationship and moral question more complicated.

The writing is powerful and emotional. The dialogue is excellent; there are some conversations that absolutely sparkle with wit and hidden meanings. The plot gradually weaves a spell around the reader until you are fully immersed in the story.

The best thing about this story is the complex characters. Everyone has so much depth, and many of the characters are very mysterious. Every relationship between characters is full of meaning, and multiple elements and motivations that are pulling the characters in different directions.

It's so fascinating to watch as Corie grows up and her understanding deepens. She is a fantastic main character, with flaws and strength and calculated boldness. I love how honest she is, in a court full of people who are all lying to each other to gain power and status. That honesty combined with her genuine friendliness gathers staunch friends to her side.

There are a couple of sweet romances and many meaningful relationships that had me absolutely captivated! I love the slow burn and the hidden glances throughout the book. One of the best relationships is between Corie and her half-sister Elisandra. Those two are so close, and they really cherish one another.

Jimmy is in high school, but he's already a famous detective, solving cases all around Japan. He gets into trouble with some thugs, who force him to take a mysterious chemical that changes him into a child. He's still solving mysteries, but no one will listen to him when he looks like he's 7 years old.

I loved this fun manga! Jimmy is a smart character, and I liked the supporting characters and their rocky relationships. I was laughing through several of the scenes, and I was intrigued by the mysteries. The art work is good, and I liked the design of the different characters.
I will definitely be reading more from this series!

A cat named Atticus stretches and yawns and naps in the sunshine. His owner feeds him, and dangles string for him to play with. Atticus sees a bird out the window, but can't get to it. At bath time, Atticus does his own style of washing by licking his fur.

The best part of this book is the silly rhyming with any word that rhymes with "cat". Atticus "jumps splat-a-tat-taticus", and he has a "tummy so fat-ticus". It's so funny to read out loud!

I like the cute crayon-style illustrations! Every page has energy and humor in the artwork.

This board book asks the reader to help Sophie find matching seashells. Sophie looks for a blue shell with stripes, and the reader can lift the flaps to search for the matching shell until you find it.

This is such a cute book! As you search for the seashells, the text tells you "Try Again!" or "Keep looking" if you lift a flap that doesn't have the seashell, and then "Hooray!" or "Ta-da!" when you find the right one. It's so adorable and fun!

I love the bright illustrations! There are so many cute fish in the background of each scene. Sophie is adorable, and at the end there is a round flap that you can turn as Sophie celebrates the end of the game.

Abby prepares the perfect tea party for her friend Phoebe. But everything goes horribly wrong, and Abby is worried that Phoebe will never want to come over again. However Phoebe might just surprise everyone!

I love the positive messages in this story that things don't have to be "perfect" for guests to have a good time and enjoy each other's company, and you don't need to worry about people judging you for your imperfections.

The story is told in rhyming text that is well-written, and a delight to read out loud!

The illustrations are so adorable! The girls are so cute, and I love the soft art style. There are tons of little details in the background of each scene, and special little cakes and flowers on the tea table.

Berta esconde todas sus emociones en cajas codificadas por colores. Todo en su vida está organizado por colores separados. Ella siempre se porta bien y nunca se emociona. Pero cuando es incomprendida, intimidada e ignorada, su temperamento comienza a agitarse y se da cuenta de que no puede seguir ocultando sus sentimientos. Empieza a expresarse con más libertad y aprende a estar bien con las emociones difíciles y a abrazar la felicidad.

No estoy seguro de qué pensar sobre este libro. No sé si Berta es simplemente rara, o si tal vez está en el espectro autista, o si su comportamiento es una metáfora de otra cosa.

Berta hides all her emotions into color-coded boxes. Everything in her life is organized by separated color. She is always well-behaved, and never gets excited. But when she is misunderstood and bullied and ignored, her temper starts to flair, and she realizes that she can't keep hiding her feelings. She starts to express herself more freely and learns to be okay with difficult emotions and embrace happiness.

I'm not really sure what to think about this book. I don't know if Berta is just weird, or if she is maybe on the autistic spectrum, or if her behavior is a metaphor for something else.

At the end of the book, Berta's feelings become beautiful monsters that she draws with all the colors mixed together (instead of keeping the colors separate like she used to.) Are the monsters just representative of her emotions, or is it something else? I don't really understand this book.

Plus this book seems to equate being organized and tidy with being repressed in some way. As if you have to be messy to be expressive. That doesn't make sense.

I love the bright illustrations. Every page is sparking with color. Berta's facial expressions are very emotive and I like the design of the scenes.

A little girl has to stay with her grandparents because her mother is sick. She starts working in her grandparents garden to grow the best sweet pea blossoms for the flower competition. There are challenges and set backs, but the little girl learns to weather the storm until her mother is better again.

This book was so cute! The little girl is so sweet and vulnerable, but she finds that inner strength and starts to gain confidence in her gardening abilities. The grandparents are loving and kind, and the whole atmosphere of the garden is soothing. I love all the positive messages in this book!

The illustrations are absolutely beautiful! I love the colorful art style, and the elegant flowers, and the fluffy cats. The design of each character is lovely. The little girl wears these huge rainboots that make her look even more small and fragile. The grandpa wears old-fashioned glasses, and grandma has her hair in curlers. Adorable!

This graphic novel follows Grace as she begins middle school in the shadow of her older brother Kyle. Grace and her friends have an argument, and Grace blames Kyle for getting involved. She worries that her new friends only like her because it gets them closer to Kyle, one of the most popular boys in school. How can Grace repair her friendships and make her own mark as her own person when Kyle is always getting in the way?

I loved how complex the characters are in this book! Grace is navigating some very awkward situations and there is a lot of tension among the characters. They all have such vivid personalities and different ways of approaching problems. Kyle is outgoing and sporty, while Grace is quiet and good at video games. I loved seeing how the dynamics between characters played out and how they each grow and change through the story.

The artwork is excellent! Every page is brightly colored, and the character designs are distinct and memorable. I just love the cute expressions on the characters' faces. They are so emotional!

The writing and the dialogue really pull you into the story! I was hooked from the first page.
