This book tore me into tiny pieces, stomped on my heart, and threw me into this imaginative and wild fantasy world. I can never figure out if the genre is sci-fi or fantasy or time travel. This series is its own thing!

Bobby Pendragon and his friends are desperately fighting a losing war against the evil Saint Dane, and when Saint Dane's plans are revealed, there is nothing they can do to stop the violence that is unleashed throughout the universe of Halla. The 10 territories are on a collision course called the Convergence, and Saint Dane is pulling those puppet strings in ways Bobby can't comprehend.

There's mystery and drama throughout the story. Suspense and action and mind-blowing plot twists! Characters are pushed to their limits, and I was so in awe of all these characters story arcs. They feel like real people!

I can't help but adore Bobby. He's such a hilarious, loyal, sweet, strong, and inspiring person. I just love seeing him take action and pull down barriers. He's the perfect main character to push the story forward.

The writing is excellent! It pulls you into the story, and I read 200 pages without realizing it.

Sharp writing, fabulous plot, delicious characters, thrilling suspense, and action to the very last page! Love it!

Fascinating! Gave me a whole new appreciation for books. Made me look at the printed word in a new light!

This final book in the trilogy broke my heart. I have the worst book hangover! My emotions are all over the place!
I was so surprised by the turn that the story took, and the massive scope of the lives of the characters. It all starts out so simple and then everything is changed and the whole world turns upside down. Masterful writing! So many plots threads that came together in unexpected ways, and I was in complete suspense wondering what wild thing could possible happen next!
(I won't really say anything else about the plot, because it would be spoilers.)

My characters! Oh, my own darling characters! Fitz, Nighteyes, the Fool, Kettricken and Verity, and so many other beautiful supporting characters... I love them all. My heart is wrung into pieces for them. I feel like they are MY people, real people in my heart. I connected so strongly with each of them, and was utterly immersed in their stories.

My only problem was that the plot got a tiny bit repetitive and seemed to drag some things out that could have been resolved more quickly. And then the writing harped on a few ideas one too many times, which was a little annoying. But those small annoyances were lost in my overwhelming enjoyment of the book!

I love it when you are reading a book and you completely forget that it's a book. This story became real for me, and the hours flew by while I was inside Fitz's world.
I can't wait to read more of Robin Hobb!

Lovely words, fascinating words. I just ate this book up from cover to cover. Marvelous stuff!

How is it possible that every single book in this series is so amazing?! I adore every page!
In this book, Bobby is on Loor's home territory of Zadaa, and there is a war looming between two tribes, the surface warriors of the Batu and the underground city of the Rokador. A terrible drought threatens both their civilizations, but the Batu think the Rokador are controlling the underground river sources and holding all the water for themselves.
Bobby and Loor are caught in the middle of espionage and small skirmishes between the tribes, trying with all their Traveler ingenuity to stop the war from starting. And of course, the horrible Saint Dane is lurking around causing trouble.

The plot twists! I still can barely wrap my head around the stuff that goes on in this story. Non-stop action, and things happening everywhere!
Bobby gets into some serious trouble in this one, and he makes some very bad mistakes; but somehow his mistakes turn out for the better, and his friends are always there to bail him out just seconds before he gets killed. The suspense really leaves you hanging until the last possible second though! The best part is that the danger feels real. You really don't know if they're all going to make it or not.

I have always loved Loor's character! She's so strong and confident. She doesn't beat around the bush, or play nice. She's incredibly straight-forward and honest, but also kind and compassionate. She tells it like it is, whether it's negative or positive. She sees things in black and white and has more common sense than any of the others. I just adore this woman!
Seeing Bobby and Loor become closer friends was simply wonderful, and seeing Loor on her home territory really opened up her character's personality and past. Brilliant writing!

I can't wait to read the next book!

Ooooh, such a marvelously good one!
