Loved reading this soon after the Earthseed Duology. While not exactly connected, I like to think that this trilogy is, in a way, the lost third book in the Earthseed trilogy. Though I didn't realize until just now that it was written first!

After going to book club, and a man talked for forever about how he didn't understand it or enjoy it, made me realize that I did infact really like this book. Perhaps out of spite?
Now that I've had time to think about it, I feel like it is mostly about being seen as your full self, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I feel like, as a non mother, it could also be an analogy for unmasking ADHD.
