Farewell to Manzanar: A True Story of Japanese American Experience During and After the World War II Internment
Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, James D. Houston
The fact that this happened in the US and many people have no idea is devastating. I only rate this book a 3 because I did not really enjoy the writing itself...I was compelled to keep reading becuase of the topic, not the langauge. I do hope that many more books about this experience are written, becuase people need to know.
I liked this. I had a thing for the Salem trials in middle school and this brought me back. It kept things moving, kept me interested, brought a little bit of a fresh outlook and also, I always love some good magic realism!
