Dead Girls Walking by Sami Ellis
Quick Summary
Temple knows evil runs I her family, with her fathering being an infamous serial killer and all. But one thing she doesn't believe is that her dad killed her mom and the only way to find these answers is to return to her old home.
Turns out the old farm has been turned into an overnight camp for queer, horror obsessed girls. Temple decides to pose as a camp counsellor to be able to go digging around in the woods and hopefully find answers.
Final Thoughts
Thank you @NetGalley, ABRAMS Kids & Amulet books for this eARC of #DeadGirlsWalking. This ended up being a book I'm glad I stuck through because I was not loving the beginning, don't get me wrong. The opening sentence was FIRE. But I lost interest for a small portion of the beginning until ultimately needed to devour the entire thing. This was a fun take on summer camp slasher tying into family history.
While I understand teenage girls, the cursing and name calling may be a little much for some people so I do want to give warning.
Other than that a fun YA Slasher Book.

This anthology is stories created by the editor Josh Schlossberg and then brought to life by many talented Jewish authors. The stories are some myths, legends and real life horrors of the Jewish world.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This anthology took me awhile to get through, there were a number of stories I loved but some felt like they went over my head but I cannot deny how well they were written. The anthology was a discovery because I always see a lot of Jewish authors for fiction and romance but I wanted to discover more horror authors as that's what makes my little black heart happy. This was the prefect way to give me a sample of the works of multiple authors, and now I can go forward with more of their works.
Be warned, this is not an anthology (in my opinion) you can sit and read like a novel. Some of these stories are deep and you sometimes need breaks, so I split them up and read a few at a time.

No summaries in fear of spoilers, this has moved to my second favourite in the series, with the first forever holding a special place in my heart. I'm currently not okay finishing this book knowing I have a long wait until the next one.
Because I've finished the book, and all her other series, my DMs are open for chats and theories. But I want to ensure I stay spoiler free to give others the chance to read the book.

Not very many historical books draw me in like this one did, the writing is beautiful, the story is captivating, and the horror elements added such a great level to the story.
Now I need more from the author, perhaps The Silent Companions next?

The documentary style of this book was so well done. It was interwoven giving us the unbelievable story and the interviews. It actually had me questioning my sanity at points.
This was my first book by Kate Alice Marshall and it was a win and makes me need to read more by her.

This one was … a little difficult for me at times. I really think it being dark academia and a lot of ballet references I was find in myself lost in it and in need of a map.
The book itself was well written and I did enjoy the demonic deal side of things and the darker parts. So that in itself kept me going and enjoying it. It is slow burn, which I’m always a fan of and it did work out in this case.
